We Started in Space
Pristill’s water purifiers are based on our patented Centrifugal Vapor Distillation (“CVD”) technology. CVD is a much more advanced version of the rotational vacuum distiller originally developed for NASA to keep astronauts alive on the International Space Station.
The basic technology has worked flawlessly for 25 years on the ISS and been proven in the most extreme, mission critical endeavor in history. Without it, manned deep space exploration would not be possible.

99.99% Pure Water
Our patented Centrifugal Vapor Distillation system has been tested by DOE/Sandia and Cedars Sinai Medical Center and shown to remove 99.9% of non-volatile contaminants, including 100% of bacteria and 100% of radiological materials (to the limits of detection).
Our new designs will push this purity level to 99.99% and above. New Pristill technologies will also remove dissolved gases and volatile organic compounds.

Extremely Low Energy
The Pristiller can desalinate seawater 99.3% more efficiently than standard distillation and with 93% less energy than VCD (vapor compression distillation).
The Pristiller uses only 10Wh/gallon or 2.6kWh/m3, which is less than most reverse osmosis systems and less than thermal systems used throughout the world.
The purity of the Pristiller distillate is less than 35ppm, and new advances will be even purer. This compares to RO desalination systems that typically produce water at over 300ppm.
Purification of Wastewater
Preliminary tests show that Pristill’s technology can act as a workhorse to help reuse water from contaminated waste streams. Recovery rates of above 70% are possible for waste streams with 7% salt (TDS) and above. By reusing most of the water, we make it easier to destroy (or recover) harmful contaminants such as heavy metals, PFAS, and active pharmaceutical contaminants.
